Kinja'd!!!

Good afternoon Japan Oppo (and others!). So, I originally started a thread a few months ago about this trip and got some great help on places to go. Well, the time is upon us and I leave the states on Saturday. I will be in Tokyo from the 1st to the 7th of December, then to Nagoya for three days, Kyoto for three days, then Osaka from the 13th onward (with some weirdness in there for a trip to Hiroshima)

Anyway, in that thread, I offered to meet up with anyone willing, and threw in a beer or meal to sweeten the pot. Just FYI, the offer still stands, should any of you have the time. I don't have every day with a set itinerary, just some basic hub points and a few hard set dates for certain things so I'm flexible. I've also got a JR pass and international driving permit, so I'm willing to make a day trip if the locale is worth it.

Also, I came across this sweet freakin' rent-a-car place that specializes in Japanese sports cars with manual transmissions, and their rates don't look terribly high relative to Times, Orix, and the lot, with the only downside being that it's located out of the way in Chiba and there's only one location... oh, and that it'll be driving in Japan. But hey, I'll probably not have many other chances in the near future to drive a Skyline GT-R or Civic Type R, so why not?

Also, if you guys know if any sweet must-eat food places, let me know. Thanks!

I didn't see your original post but I'm in Ikebukuro. This weekend I'll be in Hiroshima but I don't have plans for next weekend. What spots are you hitting in Tokyo?

Oddly enough I stumbled upon a truck show in Odaiba two weekends ago. Toyota actually has something in Odaiba called the "Mega Web" there's a few motorsports cars to see, and you can drive on their track.

If you are looking to spot cars just head to the rich areas. Roppongi, Shibuya,Shinjuku ect. I think it was Roppongi where within 1 hour I saw a 458, 430, 599, R34 GTT, Continental GT, 997 turbo, and a Flying Spur. Even crazier they were all white.

Next weekend I didn't have much planned. I was thinking of visiting Daikanyama to see if people were going to meet at what I'm told is a cars and coffee type event on Sunday.

Other places I'll be hitting up not necessarily on any date are Odaiba (including Mega Web), Akiba, Shibuya, Shinjuku (including Kabukicho), and a few other of the usual places like probably Asakusa. Don't really plan to hit up Roppongi as I figured I'd get my fill of touts in Kabukicho.

Anyway, I'd be open to whatever. I could put odaiba on the books for next Saturday.
